Leadership Eastside Announces New Board of Directors


The board for Leadership Eastside (LE) approved a new slate of officers and directors at its June board meeting, including Officers: Chair Drew Magill (The Boeing Company); Chair Elect Earl Bell (LE ’09 and Community Leader); Immediate Past Chair Betty Spieth (Langton Spieth); Co-Vice-Chairs Curriculum/Programs Jeni Craswell (LE ’08 and Ujamaa Consulting) and Dan Leahy (LE ’08 and Waypoint Leadership Consulting); Lynn Briody Vice Chair Year Two/Three Programs (LE ’09 and Community Leader); Vice Chair Finance Mike DePuydt (Senderra Corp.); Vice-Chair Marketing Mike Nesteroff (LE ’09 and Lane Powell); Jim Hutchinson Vice Chair Fund Development (Puget Sound Energy) and Vice Chair Alumni Stu Linscott (LE ’09 and Umpqua Bank).

The Board also elected six new members and two University of Washington Board Fellows, bringing the total board to 23. The new members are: Laurene Burton (LE ’08 and Evergreen Healthcare); Scott Harrison (BarclayDean); Nancy Hawman (The Seattle Times), Monty Kilcup (LE ’11 and GLY Construction), Keri Stout (Bellevue Family YMCA), and Lourdes Salazar (City of Bellevue). The Board also elected Jeff Parks and Vikas Sahdev as Board Fellows. Both begin the final year of their MBA program at the University of Washington in the fall.

LE is please these Directors are returning for an additional term: Jennifer Davies (Symetra Financial), Patti Dill (The Seattle Foundation), Marilyn Mason-Plunkett (Hopelink), Eric Svaren (Groupsmith Inc.), and Tami Ware (Microsoft Corporation).

Leadership Eastside is East King County’s regional community leadership development program. LE’s unique three year program includes an intensive first year curriculum designed around six core community leader capabilities that are explored through a focus on real issues facing the Eastside. Years two and three focus on additional community leadership skill building while class members apply their new found leadership skills through board and commission service, running for public office, and volunteerism.
